Therapeutic Diet Review

Unsure whether the diet you’re on is right for you? The Food Power Nutrition Diet Review is not ‘off-the-shelf’, but entirely tailored to you, your physiology, your lifestyle, your likes and dislikes – even your budget.

You will receive bespoke dietary recommendations based on what I learn about you through the comprehensive pre-consultation questionnaire and our 1-2-1 session. You will be asked to fill in the questionnaire and a 3-day food diary. Studying this in detail will allow me to contextualise and understand your past and current health challenges before creating a reviewed, highly informed, and uniquely tailored diet which we will go over during the session.

1 hour consultation plus 15 minutes follow appointment.

What to expect

We will also discuss how to turn the various included action points into new, healthy habits that will stick with you for a lifetime.

The hour-long session will also be a chance for you to ask questions about foods, food habits, and different diets/supplements you would like to know more about.

4 weeks later during our catch up call, we will assess what from the plan has worked well, what you found easy to implement and stick to, and what you found challenging, offering suggestions to hone and increase adherence to the plan.

Consultations can either be held online via Zoom/Telehealth or in-clinic, with additional support available via email or WhatsApp.

What's included

  • Review of your questionnaire to assess where you are in your health journey and your specific needs going forward
  • Bespoke diet plan, including recommendations on which foods to include in your diet (including alternatives for flexibility), information sheets and recipes
  • 1-hour consultation where we will go through the plan together
  • 15-minute catch-up call after 4 weeks

How long would it take to see results?

Nutritional Therapy aims to create long lasting change. Those changes will be gradual but definitive, differently from allopathic medicine that aims to suppress symptoms for immediate relief. As each person is unique, also the speed on which results will be obtained is different and this is also impacted by how closely the suggested nutritional and supplemental plan is followed.

Is there a minimum number of sessions I need to commit to?

I offer consultation via 3 different plans, with the 8 week and 12 week plans consisting of 3 and 6 sessions respectively. Three sessions is the minimum needed to achieve tangible results, which is why there isn’t a plan shorter than 8 weeks (other than the diet review). I would encourage committing to the 12 week/6 session plan, but 3 sessions is a great starting point. Further sessions can be booked ad hoc if needed. The diet review service consists of 1 appointment and a catch-up call a month after and is for clients who wish to review and seek a professional opinion of their current diet, but is not suitable to address health conditions.

Will I get supplement recommendation with every plan?

The main source of nutrients is wholefoods, and the plans are aimed to provide adequate nutrient levels for each client. Supplementation may be recommended only for a short period of time in case of significant nutrient deficiencies or to kick start your body systems. Food Power Nutrition does not have any affiliation with any supplement company and specific supplements are suggested because of their unique therapeutic properties.

What is the cancellation policy?

Understanding we all lead busy lives, I can reschedule or cancel appointments without any charge if communicated with more than 48 hours notice. Appointments cancelled or rescheduled within 48 hours of the consultation time will be charged at 50%. Appointments cancelled or reschedule within 24 hours of your appointment time will be charged at 100%. A delay of more than 15 minutes for your consultation will lead to the appointment being cancelled and charged at 100%.

Does Food Power Nutrition operates only online?

Food Power provides online consultations via a dedicated platform. Online consultations will be held via telehealth/zoom and can be easily accessed via the client’s “Practice Better” portal. In person consultations will be held on Saturday am at Clerkenwell Chiropractic Clinic, 178 Goswell Rd, London EC1V 7DT- click here for the map

What is Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional therapy is the application of nutrition science in the promotion of health, peak performance and individual care. Nutritional therapy practitioners use a wide range of tools to assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances and understand how these may contribute to an individual’s symptoms and health concerns. This approach allows them to work with individuals to address nutritional balance and help support the body towards maintaining health. Nutritional therapy is recognised as a complementary medicine. It is relevant both for individuals looking to enhance their health and wellbeing and for those with chronic conditions wishing to work with or ‘consult’ a nutritional therapist in collaboration with other suitably qualified healthcare professionals. Practitioners consider each individual to be unique and recommend personalised nutrition and lifestyle programmes rather than a ‘one size fits all’ approach. Practitioners never recommend nutritional therapy as a replacement for medical advice and always refer any client with ‘red flag’ signs or symptoms to their medical professional. They will also frequently work alongside a medical professional and will communicate with other healthcare professionals involved in the client’s care to explain any nutritional therapy programme that has been provided.

What is mBANT?

BANT (British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine) is a professional organisation for Registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioners and Registered Dietitians which are trained and qualified in clinical practice to meet national standards and work in a one-to-one setting.

BANT practitioner members are required to be registered either with Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) or be statutorily regulated. CNHC holds a register accredited by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care (PSA), an independent body accountable to the UK Parliament. BANT members are also required to meet Continuing Professional Development (CPD) standards.

Being a BANT member highlights the high standard of my training and work practice, reassuring clients of the quality of the consultations and plans I provide at Food Power Nutrition.
