Gut Health FAQ

With which conditions do you work?

I am experienced in working with patients who have endometriosis, PCOS and perimenopause. I am suffering from endometriosis myself, so I am fully aware of the condition and how distressing it can be. Tailored nutrition and lifestyle plans can help ease the symptoms associated with these conditions.

I want to address my IBS – is this the right service for me?

For complex conditions such as IBS, but also any other diagnosed condition I advice a 1:1 service such as the 4 week plan or the Gut Health testing package.

One hour appointment, Diet Review, won’t be sufficient to understand the root cause of the problem and provide a plan which can help, and follow ups are essential to monitor the progress and work on further action points in order to restore health.

How is the Gut Health Test package structured?

The Gut Health Test Package consists of one 1-hour initial consultation and four follow-ups, lasting between 30 and 45 minutes.

During our first consultation, we will go through the GI360 test results as well as a comprehensive assessment of all your body systems’ health, with the aim of joining the dots and finding the root cause of your symptoms based on the test findings and questionnaire information.

After the initial consultation, a personalised plan, as well as current and future action points, will be published on Practice Better.

During our follow-up consultations, we will discuss what worked and what didn’t, and move on to the following action points.

Which gut test are you using?

I am using GI360™ Profile, a very comprehensive stool test by Doctor’s Data. The GI360™ Profile utilises multiplex PCR molecular technology, coupled with growth-based culture and ID by MALDI-TOF, sensitive biochemical assays, and microscopy, to detect and assess the status of pathogens, viruses, parasites, and bacteria that may be contributing to acute or chronic gastrointestinal symptoms and disease.

Samples will be collected over 3 days to provide a broader overview of your gut health and a precise picture of your intestinal health status.

What is the difference between the DNA Gut and the G360 tests?

The GI360 stool test will provide an accurate picture of what is happening in your gut right now (dysbiosis, infections, parasites), which will help address your current health concerns with a personalised and effective plan.

The DNA Gut Test will evaluate your genetic predisposition to gut health imbalances, helping you understand the best interventions to prevent future gut health symptoms and disease.

Combining the two will provide the ultimate tools to address your current and future gut health.

How long would it take for my gut symptoms to disappear once I start the program with Food Power Nutrition?

While I have been able to support hundreds of patients suffering from hormonal imbalances, timings are very individual.

The complexity of your case, the overlap of different conditions, and your body’s response to dietary and supplemental plans influence the plan’s progress.

Attending regular sessions to fine-tune the plan and understand potential challenges is vital for progress, as well as complying with the plan suggestions to the best of your capacity.
