FODMAP

FODMAP stands for Fermentable Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, Mono-saccharides and Polyols. These are all types of sugars that can trigger symptoms in people suffering from IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). Monash University in Melbourne developed the low FODMAP diet as a dietary plan to manage IBS, successfully reducing its symptoms.
