SIBO

SIBO stands for small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. Most of the gut bacteria should reside in the colon, but if large colonies migrate to the small intestine and expand there, we will see IBS-like symptoms. It is possible to test for SIBO with a hydrogen/methane breath test.
