While targeted plans can help resolve current gut issues, a DNA test can help identify why this issues might be recurrent and create the ultimate plan to prevent relapses and/or their severity.

This test analyses your genes, not the microbiome genes, to highlight possible genetic issues with gut immunity, enzyme production, lactose and gluten intolerance and predisposition to leaky gut.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a 4 week plan and the other 1:1 services?

Plans differ for the level of support offered in terms of  number, length of the follow ups and their frequency. The 4 weeks plan includes one initial 1hour session and two 30 minutes follow ups, support in between sessions, as well as personalised nutrition, lifestyle and supplement plans after every appointment. It does not include functional test interpretation, if that is required it needs to be booked as a separate session valued £160 + test cost.

What is the difference between the testing packages and the 1:1 plans?

With the data provided by functional testing we will have further information to address deep seated issues and unbalances and create a very targeted and efficient plan.

Testing packages are ideal to stop trial and error and look deeply into what could be the root cause of your symptoms and act efficiently.

How long would it take to see results?

Nutritional Therapy aims to create long lasting change. Those changes will be gradual but definitive, differently from allopathic medicine that aims to suppress symptoms for immediate relief. As each person is unique, also the speed on which results will be obtained is different and this is also impacted by how closely the suggested nutritional and supplemental plan is followed.

What should I expect to achieve working together?

Food Power Nutrition plans are highly personalised, created around your needs and your goal in order to obtain the best results possible. Saying that, it is important to note that results vary from person to person as we are all unique and our body responds differently. Committing  to the plan recommendations, taking the recommended supplements and attending regular appointments is essential to achieve the best results possible. Expectations and goals will be discussed during our discovery call.

What is the cancellation policy?

Understanding we all lead busy lives, I can reschedule or cancel appointments without any charge if communicated with more than 48 hours notice. Appointments cancelled or rescheduled within 48 hours of the consultation time will be charged at 50%. Appointments cancelled or reschedule within 24 hours of your appointment time will be charged at 100%. A delay of more than 15 minutes for your consultation will lead to the appointment being cancelled and charged at 100%.

Food Power Nutrition can decide to interrupt and cancel an online appointment in case the patient’s internet connection makes it impossible to support a call, as being able to clearly understand each other is vital for the session outcome.

What shall I do if I have questions in between my two appointments?

Please contact me at my email lucia@foodpowernutrition.com or via Practice Better chat service for support – I am always happy to help and offer support in between sessions.

I do aim to reply within the day, but please note that Food Power Nutrition working hours are between 9am and 6pm, Monday to Friday so any queries outside this time might not be addressed as quickly.

Will I get supplements recommendations with every plan?

The main source of nutrients is wholefoods, and the plans are aimed to provide adequate nutrient levels for each client. Supplementation may be recommended only for a short period of time in case of significant nutrient deficiencies or to kick start your body systems. Food Power Nutrition does not have any affiliation with any supplement company and specific supplements are suggested because of their unique therapeutic properties.

If I need more follow up sessions, do I need to book a new package?

Whilst working together we will evaluate the progress of the plan, and if further sessions are needed 45 minutes fortnightly follow ups can be booked for existing clients for £85 each.

What happens if I don’t manage to fill in the questionnaire 72 hours ahead of the appointment?

Please contact me at least 72 hours before our appointment date asking for it to be rescheduled if you realised you won’t have time to fill in the questionnaire and read the T&C.

The information provided in the questionnaire are key to start building your plan and provide you with the best service possible, and I won’t go ahead with the initial appointment without those as I aiming to deliver a high standard service and consultation to all my clients.

When is an appointment considered booked?

You will receive an email via “Practice Better” asking to confirm your appointment. I will consider the appointment confirmed once the invoice is settled and the questionnaire received.

In case the questionnaire is not received or the total or deposit invoice is not settled the appointment will be rescheduled.

Does Food Power Nutrition operate only online?

Food Power provides online consultations via a dedicated platform called Practice Better. Online consultations will be held via telehealth/zoom and can be easily accessed via the client’s “Practice Better” portal. Initial one hour consultations can be held in person on Wednesday afternoons at Angel Gyms, 48 Provost St, London N1 7SU. All follow ups will be held online.

What’s the difference between nutritional therapist, nutrition coach and nutritionist?

In the ever-evolving landscape of health and wellness, the importance of seeking legit professional guidance for optimal nutrition cannot be overstated. Registered Nutritional Therapists play a pivotal role in promoting well-being by providing personalized and evidence-based nutritional advice. I wanted to explore the significance of consulting a Registered Nutritional Therapist, shedding light on their qualifications (a degree) and the importance of being registered with professional bodies like BANT (British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine) and CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council).

What is the difference between Nutritional Therapists, Nutrition Coaches and Nutritionists?

  1. Nutritional Therapists:
    • Focus: Holistic, addressing underlying health issues.
    • Qualifications: Hold a degree in nutritional therapy or a related field.
    • Registration: Registered with professional bodies like BANT and CNHC.
    • Approach: Personalized, evidence-based recommendations.
    • Scope: Work one to one with individuals dealing with specific health concerns.
  2. Nutrition Coaches:
    • Focus: Goal-oriented, often centered on fitness and weight management.
    • Qualifications: Vary; it is not a regulated profession and only some may have certifications in coaching or attended courses in
    • Registration: Not typically required, but some may hold certifications from coaching organizations.
    • Approach: Goal-focused, motivational, and lifestyle-oriented.
    • Scope: Assist clients in achieving specific health and fitness goals.
  3. Nutritionists:
    • Focus: General nutrition advice, public health, and community settings.
    • Qualifications: Hold a degree in nutrition or a related field.

In the pursuit of optimal health and receiving personalised and tailored 1:1 advice, consulting a Registered Nutritional Therapist stands out as a wise choice. Their holistic approach, personalised guidance, and commitment to professional standards set them apart. Ensuring that a nutritional therapist is registered with BANT and CNHC adds an extra layer of assurance, highlighting their dedication to excellence, knowledge and high standard of practice.

Is Nutritional Therapy covered by any insurance or private health cash plan?

As a Nutritional Therapist, I am registered with CNHC and BANT. CNHC nutritional therapy registration is recognised by some private health cash plans, such as Westfield Health and Health Shield and WPA.

Please check with your provider for your cover details.
