Essential Fatty Acids (EFA)
by Lucia Stansbie
These fats are also known as omega3 (alpha-linoleic acid) and omega6 (linoleic acid). The body cannot produce them, so they need to be supplied by diet. EFA are essential components of cell membranes, and are part of components involved in the regulation of inflammation, central nervous system signalling, lipid accumulation, and cardiovascular health.
