What is mBANT?

BANT (British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine) is a professional organisation for Registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioners and Registered Dietitians which are trained and qualified in clinical practice to meet national standards and work in a one-to-one setting.

BANT practitioner members are required to be registered either with Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) or be statutorily regulated. CNHC holds a register accredited by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care (PSA), an independent body accountable to the UK Parliament. BANT members are also required to meet Continuing Professional Development (CPD) standards.

Being a BANT member highlights the high standard of my training and work practice, reassuring clients of the quality of the consultations and plans I provide at Food Power Nutrition.

What is the difference between the Diet Review plan and the other 1:1 services?

Packages differ for the level of support offered in terms of length of the follow ups and their frequency. The Diet Review is a stand alone service to provide a nutritionist approved new version of your current diet in order to address some simple health concerns and thrive. For more complex conditions a more structured 1:1 service is recommended.

What is the difference between a 4 week plan and the other 1:1 services?

Packages differ for the level of support offered in terms of  number, length of the follow ups and their frequency. The 4 and 9 week packages include a complementary 7 day food plan (worth £70) and extra recipes, and the 9 week plan also offers support in between sessions via whats app and not only email.

What is the difference between the 9 week plan and the other 1:1 services?

Packages differ for the level of support offered in terms of number, length of the follow ups and their frequency. The 9 week package is the most complete which offers many extras, including a complementary 7 day food plan (worth £70) and extra recipes, as well as offering support in between sessions via whats app and not only via email.

Can I pay the Packages and Weeks Plans in instalments?

Yes you can – you can divide the total fee in 3 instalments. For the Gut Health, Hormones Balance and Increase Your Energy packages the first payment will cover the cost of the test ahead of ordering it, while the remaining fee can be divided in 2 instalments. The  week plans can also be divided in 3 instalments, with the first one being £170.

What is the difference between the testing packages and the 1:1 packages?

With the data provided by functional testing we will have further data to address deep seated issues and unbalances and create a very targeted and efficient plan.

I want to address my IBS – is this the right service for me?

For complex conditions such as IBS, but also any other diagnosed condition I advice a 1:1 service (initial+follow up, 4 week plan, 9 week plan) or the Gut Health testing package.

One hour appointment won’t be sufficient to understand the root cause of the problem and provide a plan which can help, and follow ups are essential to monitor the progress and work on further action points in order to restore health.

If I need more follow up sessions, do I need to book a new package?

Whilst working together we will evaluate the progress of the plan, and if further sessions are needed 1/2 hour fortnightly follow ups can be booked for existing clients for £70 each.

In the ever-evolving landscape of health and wellness, the importance of seeking legit professional guidance for optimal nutrition cannot be overstated. What is Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional therapy is the application of nutrition science in the promotion of health, peak performance and individual care. Nutritional therapy practitioners use a wide range of tools to assess and identify potential nutritional imbalances and understand how these may contribute to an individual’s symptoms and health concerns. This approach allows them to work with individuals to address nutritional balance and help support the body towards maintaining health. Nutritional therapy is recognised as a complementary medicine. It is relevant both for individuals looking to enhance their health and wellbeing and for those with chronic conditions wishing to work with or ‘consult’ a nutritional therapist in collaboration with other suitably qualified healthcare professionals. Practitioners consider each individual to be unique and recommend personalised nutrition and lifestyle programmes rather than a ‘one size fits all’ approach. Practitioners never recommend nutritional therapy as a replacement for medical advice and always refer any client with ‘red flag’ signs or symptoms to their medical professional. They will also frequently work alongside a medical professional and will communicate with other healthcare professionals involved in the client’s care to explain any nutritional therapy programme that has been provided.

How long would it take to see results?

Nutritional Therapy aims to create long lasting change. Those changes will be gradual but definitive, differently from allopathic medicine that aims to suppress symptoms for immediate relief. As each person is unique, also the speed on which results will be obtained is different and this is also impacted by how closely the suggested nutritional and supplemental plan is followed.

Will I get supplement recommendation with every plan?

The main source of nutrients is wholefoods, and the plans are aimed to provide adequate nutrient levels for each client. Supplementation may be recommended only for a short period of time in case of significant nutrient deficiencies or to kick start your body systems. Food Power Nutrition does not have any affiliation with any supplement company and specific supplements are suggested because of their unique therapeutic properties.

What is the cancellation policy?

Understanding we all lead busy lives, I can reschedule or cancel appointments without any charge if communicated with more than 48 hours notice. Appointments cancelled or rescheduled within 48 hours of the consultation time will be charged at 50%. Appointments cancelled or reschedule within 24 hours of your appointment time will be charged at 100%. A delay of more than 15 minutes for your consultation will lead to the appointment being cancelled and charged at 100%.
